The Southern Afghan Club – Open Show – 6th MAY, 2007.

I would like to thank the committee of SAC for a very pleasant day spent judging their open show, it was a great priviledge, also for the assistance of my stewards.  Many thanks go to all the exhibitors for their lovely entry and the sporting way my decisions were taken – it was judged on the day and only my opinion.

 

MPD   (4) (2 absent)

1st – Kirk & MortÕs Jimellree A Fine Madness at Istani.  Very raw young puppy, but well balanced in angulation, nice head & dark eye, good topline, everything in the right place at this stage of development.  Stylish & confident on the move.

2nd – GrayÕs Sarakhan Sherdan.  Another very nice young puppy with a lot to like.  Good shape in profile, good angles, well off for body & bone, sound movement – should do well.

 

PD   (3)

1st – Adamson, Phillips & SmithÕs Zhaqqari TÕnage Kicks.  Well grown solid black.  Good head & neck, good depth of chest, good front & rear angulation, solid topline, well off for bone.  Moved with drive & style.   BPD.

2nd – GreenÕs SocheraÕs Beaujolais.  Solid black, finer all through than lst, but a very nice puppy.  Well balanced angulation, good head & eye shape, very nice in profile just needs confidence to show off his attributes.

3rd – Gunn & PowÕs Massaj Shams-an-Nahar.

 

VD  7 years & under 10 years (2)

1st – GrayÕs Aramaic Errol Flynn.  Both of these veterans are a credit to their owners and in terrific condition.  B/masked silver, well angulated fore & aft, strong topline, good muscle tone, moved really well with drive.

2nd – ParsonÕs Amshura the Minstral.  Very nice b/m gold, more compact all through than 1st, very nice head, solid topline, also moved really well.  Both these veterans did their owners proud today.

 

JD   (5)

1st – BoydellÕs Warrenoak WhatÕs in a Name.  Super young dog, liked him a lot.  Lovely head, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, good overall conformation, very sound to go over.  Free striding movement – should mature into a very nice hound.  Well handled & presented.

2nd – FinchamÕs Youssef Al Daoud (Imp) – Longer cast and rangier than 1st, good bone & substance, masculine head, solid topline.  Handler brings the best out of him on the move, covers the ground with ease.

3rd – Gunn & KirkÕs Istani Reach for the Stars.

1st – LatimerÕs Istani Your Love is King at Kharook JW.  Very striking young male, classic head, desired chiselling & expression, good neck, strong topline, well balanced conformation, in good hard muscle condition which enabled him to cover the ground with stylish, powerful movement.  Well handled & presented – liked him a lot.  RBD.

2nd – Farquhar & ManeyÕs Birkhall Secret Agent – This also was a very nice young male, more compact in size than 1st but very well balanced, good head & eye shape, good angulation, well set tail.  Very sound movement, well presented – should mature into a very nice hound.

3rd – AldousÕs Ifmaraf Go In Pinstrips at Ambela.

1st – ClackÕs Nagasumi Nebbiolo.   Shaded masked pale gold, nice head, good eye shape, fair angulation, correct tail set, moved quite well holding his topline.

1st – ParkerÕs Spark in the Dark at Zendushkas.   Liked the size & balance of this young dog, good head & eye, good neck into well laid shoulders, good conformation all through.  Moved really well holding topline – well handled & presented.

2nd – BoydellÕs Warrenoak Dellboy SH CM JW – Houndier than my 1st but nevertheless a very sound dog, lovely head, in good hard condition, well made all through.  Moved with drive.

3rd – ClackÕs Mahadi Bandito from Majikind (Imp).

1st – LancashireÕs Drishaun Declan JW.   Outstanding b/m gold, fabulous head with desired chiselling, good eye shape (looks straight through you), good length of neck, well laid shoulders, well balanced angulation all through, correct tail set, in good hard condition.  Stunning in profile, covers the ground with correct spring & drive – could watch him all day – my ideal hound, top class handling & presentation.  BD & BIS.

2nd – GreeningÕs Metewand Cabango SH CM.  Very nice s/m cream whom IÕve done well for in the past, has matured into a very nice hound, well constructed all through, in good body condition.  Moves with purpose & drive.  Handled to bring the best out of him.

3rd – ParsonÕs Sukeshi Blaise of Glory JW.

1st – RichardÕs Arushkhan Lord of the Ring.  Very Well made solid black who has magtured really well, masculine head, good length of neck, good shoulder placement, balanced conformation, correct tail set, good body condition.  Moved really well with style & drive.  Although stood alone could win well in any company.  Well handled.

1st – Austin, Borash & NorthÕs Sarakhan Swansong.  Very nice puppy class – all at different stages of development.  Very much liked this young lady, good head & eye, well placed shoulders, good angulation, firm top-line & correct tailset, well balanced all through.  Very happy confident puppy which showed in her sound springy movement.  Shown on a loose lead which brought out the best in her.  Very well handled & presented.  BPB & BPIS.

2nd – Courtney, Latimer, Campbell & CharlesworthÕs Jimellree Never Say Never at Zharook.  Another nice baby, feminine head & good eye shape, good neck & shoulder placement, good angulation fore & aft.  Moved really well but preferred overall balance of 1st at this stage.  Another confident puppy whom IÕm sure will do well.

3rd – Evans & HillierÕs Bozwoods Love Story at Numa.

 

PB   (4)

1st – HitchÕs Cherry Blossom of Zendushkas.  Very nice young lady, feminine head, long neck, well placed shoulders, good depth of chest, balanced conformation, good top-line.  Nice springy movement – the more she settled on the move the better she got, raising her tail and striding out – well handled.

2nd – StainsbyÕs Cloudside Match Maid.  Very feminine & pretty puppy, more compact in size than 1st and finer all through but nonetheless very nice, moved with style.

3rd – Evans & HillierÕs Bozwoods Love Story at Numa.

1st – RyallÕs Vaikor a Kinda Majic at Ritzina.  What a lovely lady she is, pretty head, good eye shape, well balanced conformation, in lovely condition for her age.  Moved really well holding her top-line a credit to her owners.

1st – Fielder, Churchill & Yates Saxonmill Sun Dance Girl at Garamond.  Flashy b/s, good head & eye, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, good depth of chest, balanced angulation, nice in profile.  Covers the ground well on the move.

2nd – LancashireÕs Drishaun IÕll Tell You No Lies.  Very nice headed young lady, good length of neck, balanced conformation, solid top-line & correct tail set, lovely shape in profile.  Good length of stride on the move but a little erratic today – once settled should do really well.

3rd – MooreyÕs Gezancol Whoopsie Daisy.

1st – Adamson, Phillips & SmithÕs Zhaqqari Between TÕSheets with Peterwell.  Solid black bitch, arrogant feminine head, good eye shape, long neck, good shoulder placement, deep chest, balanced conformation.  Good hard condition, comes into her own on the move with powerful ground covering strides.  Well handled.

2nd – FloydÕs Hubshe Uzume.  Very good headed bitch, good eye shape and expression.  Very nice to go o ver and in good muscle tone – liked her a lot but spoilt her chance by deciding to ŌpaceÕ, but once settled, moved with style.

3rd – ParkerÕs Blue Curacao of Zendushkas.

1st – LancashireÕs Drishaun IÕll Tell You No Lies.  Moved so much better in this class, had settled down and showed what she could do – a well deserved win.

2nd – MooreyÕs Gezancol Whoopsie Daisy.

3rd – Khamis Cafˇ Del Mar.

1st – Fairburn, Fillis-Moon & RobertÕs Maringo Music Maker.  B/m gold quality bitch of a very nice type, maturing into a very nice hound.  Lovely head with good eye and expression, long neck, well placed shoulders, good front assembly and complimentary rear angulation, level top-line and correct tail set, well balanced & in hard condition, lovely in profile.  Moved with correct springy driving movement – liked her a lot.  RBB.

2nd – FloydÕs Hubshe Ukemochi.  Very nice black & cream bitch, loved her head – very nice to go over, good muscle tone, lovely shape.  Pushed 1st very hard on the move in this class, another good quality bitch who should do well.

3rd – Kirk & MortÕs Hakmet Band of Gold JW.

Some very nice bitches in this class.

1st – FloydÕs Hubshe Ko No Hana.  Super head, good eye shape, good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders, good depth of check, good angulation front & back, very nice shape in profile, good muscle tone which she used to her advantage on the move, very nice bitch.  Good presentation.

2nd – RyallÕs Metewand Wiscasset JW SH CM.  Quality b/m gold, very well made all through, in terrific muscle condition, moved really well using good length of stride – just prefered head of 1st.

3rd – GoslingÕs Kabella Love is Blue JW.

1st – GreenÕs Socheras Blackberry Wine.  Very nice solid black, refined feminine head, good neck, well placed shoulders, balanced angulation all through, very nice in profile.  Moved well but a little hesitant today, nevertheless a very nice bitch.

2nd GoslingÕs Miamarna IÕll Fly For You.

Two super sisters from a very nice litter that I admire.  Both with similar qualities, feminine arrogant heads, good neck, balanced conformation.  Presentation & handling first class.  Both fabulous movers but today 1st pushed really hard and moved out with strength & style, also just preferred overall balance of 1st.  IÕm sure they will change places many times and should both do really well.

3rd – Fairburn & Fillis-MoonÕs Maringo Rosa Mundi.
